Since I start picking stories behind the front, it
created another story behind this stories. Or maybe more than one I am not
sure. A new thing I learnt in last few days is lot of people gets scared to
talk about their own. A few people I succeeded getting their story but more I got
rejected. We should be proud of what we are, should be satisfied with what we
have, be comfortable with the community we live in. People tend to think
everyone else probably thinks the same way like they do, it happen to be human
nature. Well NO! We all have our own unique way of thinking. I will consider
myself an open book, you can come and just read it for free anytime. That was
the mentality I had when I went to others and asked if they would be interested
being part of my blog? A lot of them panicked, some even got upset end up
giving me some weird look. Our trust issue is getting worse day by day, I will
just blame it on the circumstance and the type of world we live in. It is very
sad. Now, I could go on forever but I think made my point, just felt like share
this feeling with you all.

It Gives you Wing
Boneless or traditional style chicken wing are not
only great source of protein, it is also a food loved by majority of humans all
over the world. “Buffalo wild wing” is a place where these chicken wings are
served in various different way based on your taste. Personally it is one of my
favorite place to go hang out, grab a drink and have wings with my friends.
Their food is so delicious that I always wonder, who
are the people behind that kitchen wall fixing them magical food for us? Although
they have their secret recipe and ingredients but here I want to show my
appreciation towards the wonderful crew members who is willing to be there do
this for us.
Juan Gonzalez, raised in Topeka, a high school graduate
is one of the member I got to talk to. He is a full time employee works in the
kitchen as cook, he’s in charge of making burritos, salad etc. sometime work as
dish washer according to the need. He said they got very nice work environment
there, along with wonderful co-workers. It is not is first food chain job, he
worked in other restaurants before but it’s the best one of his experience. Best
part of his job he likes the most is working as a team because that’s like
having fun time with people around and get some serious work done at the same
time. It helps him not to get tired or bored of what he’s doing and stay
focused. Like every coin has two side, every other thing has it too. On the bad
side what makes Juan upset is when he gets pushed hard to rush. However it’s
understandable because good restaurants do care about their fast service a lot.
Money wise they pays their employees very well.
Above that “Buffalo wild wing” offers free Red Bull
energy drinks to their employees. How amazing is that! I could never guessed,
if this guy wouldn’t the point.
Even though it is fun to work there, his challenging
part of his job work is the “Big Game Days.” They gets slammed by guests, they
gets insanely busy those days. Well it’s surprising and we all know it because most
of us had been there at least once to watch our favorite team play. Juan said;
kitchen gets super busy in such times that he struggles to keep up with the
flow sometimes but they get it done somehow. Good work compliments motivates
him towards his job, he like raises too. He feels it would be nice if everyone
works hard in the crew. But it’s universal rule we will have one of those lazy
one around us that makes us all mad. Overall at the scale of (1-10) one being
the least and ten being the most, he will rate his job eight as I asked him.
As a person he is very cool. He loves watching Netflix
with his girl, going out to lake and have quality family time. They are
expecting a baby in near future, he seems to be extremely excited about it.
Juan is one of those thousand people who does a lot for us behind that wall,
probably compromising their own favorite teams game working in that kitchen,
just so we can enjoy watching ours. Although it’s their own choice, let’s always
keep them in our consideration and always appreciate what people hike Juan is
doing for us every day.
Beauty and the Beast
Such a heart melting story of an unlikely friendship of Lindsay and David. David Douglas; 6 feet tall and 334 pounds, Marine Corps veteran and champion weightlifter David "The Beast" Douglas, 29. And Lindsay; 12-year-old girl who stands 3 1/2 feet tall, weighs 30 pounds and is affectionately known as his "little sis."
Lindsay is fighting with progeria, a rare, fatal genetic condition that causes premature aging at 8-10 times the normal rate, with most of those afflicted dying of heart attacks or strokes at about age 14. Douglas met the little girl and her parents, Joe and Kristy Ratcliffe, in 2013 when he volunteered to participate in a weightlifting event put on by the charity Relentless Powerlifting.
since then Douglas had made his duty to help Lindsay in anyway he can. He stepped up to help the Ratcliffes in their crusade to raise awareness. They will be holding their 11th annual Miles for Miracles walk – led by Lindsay – in Flat Rock on May 7, with proceeds benefitting progeria research.

It's the New Him
Nothing is impossible, if the goal is set and the
effort is given to stay on top of it until the goal is achieved. Those ones who
is underestimated and not looked at like an average person because of their
overweight or being out of shape, is possible to change if they decide to work
hard enough.
Shawn with his daughter |
Shawn Breitkreutz a football lover, played football
while he was in high school. After graduation he took s full time job and gets
busy with life. However my point here is something else, might sound rude but I
am going to say anyway. Shawn use to be an unhealthy over weighted kid. According
to him- for his this kind of health he felt tired all the time, he had lack of
real confidence. Every time he looked at the mirror it made him sad. Good part
here is “Mirror” is what made him taking his life time decision. He didn’t like
what he saw in the mirror, so he decided to change that, decided to do
everything it takes so that “he can look in the mirror and make himself feel
good.”

He gets a gym membership with one of his buddy,
started working out together. In few weeks his buddy felt out, however he kept
going. Alone! He did quite a bit of research and found this 3 month transformation
program he finished it, he saw some result what motivated him even more. His vision
was very clear, and in all sudden he starts playing football again, which is
love of his life. Body transformation does not happen by only weight lifting or
hardcore exercise. Eating healthy and being on healthy diet is a very big part
of it. Grocery, cooking, prepping takes a lot of time. After working a full
time job, playing football and spending huge amount of time in the gym working
out, it is not easy to find time to cook. First it was little challenging, but
later he got so used to it. Now, it takes him about two hours to prepare and
prep meal which he uses for a whole week. This is another key of understanding
how passionate he is. His journey has not been easy, what we see in front of
our eyes is the result but it took him a lot to get here. There was uncountable
of time he would be exhausted, tired, different joint pain, muscle sore in
various places that want him to quit. He did not. Shawn said form his personal
experience “those days he did not feel like going to gym, but drag himself
here, those had been his most productive days of killer work out. He dragged himself
to the gym because he had the confidence that he will feel better for himself
by the time he leaves. He lived through out a quote “excuse will always be
there for you, opportunity won’t”.

Shawn mentioned
people do not at him the same way they used to. When someone show their appreciation
for his great transformation that simply makes him smile. He is a real chill
person at the gym, anytime if anyone needs help with anything he always tries
his best to help them. His dream is to open an Olympic style gym in future. His
advice to those kind of people who are living an unhealthy life but willing to
do something about it is “do not care what other people thinks about you, do it
for yourself, in the end what all matters is if you made yourself happy”.
It is not a TV show or life experiment. Shawn is real,
so is his transformation in Topeka, KS. He is just another example of Success after
Hard Work. I had great time listening his story, he is also very kind as a
person. Wish Shawn a very good future and hope him to motivate others in life
changing event.
